  • Provincial People's Council surveyed educational work in An Xuyen ward

At Tan Duc Secondary and High School (Tan Thuan Commune), Mr. Ngo Thai Ha, Principal of the school, said: In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 24 classes with 924 students. Since the beginning of the year, 30 students have dropped out or transferred schools. The school is currently sending teachers to participate in the civil servant recruitment exam organized by the province.

The school's biggest difficulty is the lack of basic teaching equipment , especially for grades 7 and above. The school has two campuses with a total area of over 10,000 m² but does not meet the standards prescribed for rural schools. The school proposed investing in two asphalt roads, each about 200 m long, to connect the campuses with the main road of the commune, making it convenient for students to go to school.

The school's first campus needs to invest in a connecting road to the main road of Tan Thuan commune.

Mr. Phan Minh Khoe, Chairman of Tan Thuan Commune People's Committee, said: "After the merger, the commune now has 7 schools, most of which have degraded facilities. Tan Duc Secondary and High School is managed by the Department of Education and Training. Regarding the traffic proposal, the Commune People's Committee will conduct a specific survey to have a basis for establishing an investment project for the road connecting the school's first campus with the existing asphalt road.

The school strictly implements Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training, does not organize extra teaching and learning in the unit.

The delegation surveyed the classroom of Kim Son Primary School, Ganh Hao commune.

However, the school is facing a shortage of teachers , typically two music teachers are still lacking teaching hours. The Board of Directors recommends that superiors arrange and rotate teachers appropriately, ensuring the right job positions, meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program.

Due to the lack of a cafeteria, 616 students of 16 boarding classes at Kim Son Primary School have to eat in the classroom.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thai, Principal of Kim Son Primary School, wishes: The school's facilities need to be invested in. Currently, there are 16 boarding classes but there is no cafeteria, the restrooms for teachers and students are degraded and need to be repaired. At the same time, the school also proposed that the Provincial People's Council consider providing specific instructions on paying remuneration to management staff who also hold the positions of Party cell secretary and deputy secretary.

Ms. Tran Thi Huynh Dao guides Kim Son Primary School in implementing service fees for boarding classes.

Acknowledging the difficulties of schools, from degraded facilities, lack of equipment, to the shortage - surplus of teachers and policy mechanisms, and treatment regimes. Ms. Tran Thi Huynh Dao emphasized: "This survey is an important practical basis for the People's Council of Ca Mau province to consider, propose solutions and investment orientation in the coming time, contributing to improving the quality of education in the area".
