Bank officials were rewarded for preventing a cyber fraud case.

(Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of October 22, the Dong Nai Provincial Police held an awards ceremony to honor individuals who achieved outstanding results in coordinating efforts to detect and prevent a scam targeting people transferring money at Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch.

Accordingly, acting on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Dong Nai Provincial Police, Lieutenant Colonel Thai Duy Luong, Deputy Head of the Economic Security Department of the Provincial Police, attended and presided over the award ceremony. Also present at the ceremony was Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Director of Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch.

Earlier, on the afternoon of September 4th, the Economic Security Department of the Dong Nai Provincial Police received a report from Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh (Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai Province) regarding Ms. BTV (Tam Hiep Ward, Dong Nai Province) who showed signs of being scammed and threatened by individuals impersonating law enforcement officers, demanding that she open a bank account and transfer money.

Upon noticing unusual activity, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh immediately reported it to the police and, together with Ms. V., went to Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch to verify the information and coordinate efforts to prevent the transaction. Immediately after receiving the information, the Economic Security Department quickly coordinated with the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Provincial Police, along with bank staff, to temporarily halt the transaction. They also educated and explained the fraudulent scheme to Ms. V., helping her understand the deception and preventing her from transferring 400 million VND to the perpetrators.

Thanks to the vigilance and timely coordination of Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh, an employee of Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch, and the provincial police force, the incident was successfully prevented, helping to protect people's assets and contributing to the prevention of high-tech fraud crimes in the area.

Recognizing the sense of responsibility, proactiveness, and effective coordination among the forces, the Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Police Department signed a decision to award certificates of commendation to three individuals: Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh (Tan Trieu Ward); Mr. Tran Vuong Trong, Head of the Accounting and Administrative Treasury Department; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, teller, of Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Thai Duy Luong commended the vigilance and responsibility of the individuals being honored, while emphasizing the importance of close coordination between the police force and credit institutions in preventing, detecting, and stopping fraudulent activities in cyberspace.
