Rewarding bank staff for preventing cyber fraud

Accordingly, authorized by the Board of Directors of Dong Nai Provincial Police, Lieutenant Colonel Thai Duy Luong, Deputy Head of the Economic Security Department of the Provincial Police attended and chaired the award ceremony. Previously, on the afternoon of September 4, the Economic Security Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police received a report from Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh (Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai Province) that Ms. BTV (Tam Hiep Ward, Dong Nai Province) showed signs of being scammed and threatened by subjects impersonating police officers, asking them to open an account and transfer money via bank.

With unusual signs, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh immediately reported to the police and went with Ms. V. to Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch to verify and coordinate to prevent. Immediately after receiving the information, the Economic Security Department quickly coordinated with the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Provincial Police, and bank staff to temporarily suspend the transaction, at the same time propagandize and explain to help Ms. V. clearly recognize the fraud tricks, promptly preventing the transfer of 400 million VND to bad actors.

Thanks to the vigilance and timely coordination of Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh, an employee of Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch and the provincial police force, the incident was successfully prevented, helping to protect people's assets and contributing to the prevention of high-tech fraud crimes in the area.

In recognition of the sense of responsibility, initiative and effective coordination between the forces, the Director of Dong Nai Provincial Police signed a decision to award certificates of merit to 3 individuals, including: Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh (Tan Trieu Ward); Mr. Tran Vuong Trong, Head of Administrative Accounting and Treasury Department and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, teller, of Nam A Bank - Dong Nai branch.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Thai Duy Luong praised the vigilance and responsibility of the individuals being awarded, and emphasized the importance of close coordination between the police force and credit institutions in preventing, detecting and stopping fraudulent acts in cyberspace.
