The situation where Binh Phuoc's coaching staff intended to attack the referee.
In the match between Hoa Binh Club and Binh Phuoc Club, the away team had their goal disallowed at the end of the first half due to an offside. Binh Phuoc players and coaching staff did not agree with the referee's decision.
The away team reacted fiercely. Two Binh Phuoc players came forward to argue, pointing at the linesman. Coach Le Thanh Xuan rushed onto the field to protest and was given a red card, then bumped into the assistant referee's face. Another member of Binh Phuoc's coaching staff rushed in to push the main referee.
Binh Phuoc coaching staff argued with the referee
“ I reviewed the situation where the referee blew the offside flag. I was quite far away on the field so I couldn’t see clearly. But my action at that time was the climax, the last straw after a series of problems that had occurred. And I also affirm that I had no influence on the referee, ” coach Le Thanh Xuan told VTC News after the match.
Commenting on this situation, a former V-League referee shared: " Football has both right and wrong. Those involved must respect the rules of the game. You cannot just rush onto the field to attack the referee like that because you are upset ."
