Proposal to speed up construction progress and complete Tran Bach Dang bridge

Voters requested the city to speed up the construction progress and complete the Tran Bach Dang bridge project. The response from the City Construction Investment Project Management Board (PMU) is as follows:

Currently, there is still 1 household that has not been resettled, so the site has not been handed over to the project. According to the content of Notice No. 337/TB-VPUB dated November 30, 2022 of the City People's Committee Office on the conclusion of the City People's Committee Chairman Tran Viet Truong at the meeting to inspect the work of compensation, support and resettlement of city-invested projects in Ninh Kieu district, the City People's Committee Chairman has assigned the Ninh Kieu District People's Committee to review and issue a document proposing the location of 2 resettlement sites to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. However, it has not been resolved yet.

Regarding the construction implementation status: Currently, the contractor has submitted a document requesting to return the project (terminate the contract) due to the inability to implement due to site clearance and price fluctuations. According to the content of Official Dispatch No. 3866/UBND-XDDT dated September 28, 2022 of the City People's Committee, the City People's Committee has a policy to allow updating the construction estimate for the remaining volume of the package after the contractor proposed to terminate the contract to organize the selection of another contractor for the remaining volume to complete the entire package according to regulations. Currently, the Project Management Board is carrying out the procedures according to regulations, but it still depends on the time of handing over the resettlement land.
