In the spirit of mutual love and support, the youth of Truong Lac ward mobilized philanthropists to build a Charity House for member Tran Hoai Phuc in Tan Hung area. Hoai Phuc's family is in difficult circumstances. His father has degenerative spine disease and cannot do heavy labor, so Phuc has to work for hire to help his family. Phuc confided: “Previously, the old house was dilapidated and cramped, but the family did not have the conditions to build a new one. Understanding the family's situation, the Truong Lac ward Youth Union regularly visited and encouraged them. In April 2025, my family was considered for support to build a "Charity House". By early May 2025, the house was completed and put into use. I am very grateful to the union officials and those who cared about and helped my family."
Phuc's house has an area of 32 square meters, prefabricated house specifications, tiled floor and corrugated iron roof... worth 55 million VND. Mr. Huynh Van Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Truong Lac Ward, said: "In May 2025, the Youth Union of the Ward organized a handover ceremony of 2 Charity Houses to Youth Union members Tran Hoai Phuc and Ho Trong Nghia in Tan Hung area. The total amount of money to build the 2 houses above is worth 110 million VND, mobilized from benefactors. This is a project of the Youth Union of Truong Lac Ward to celebrate the 95th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025)".
Over the years, the movement of "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember its source" and helping people in difficult circumstances have always been of interest to the Truong Lac Ward Youth Union with many meaningful and practical activities. Thereby, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of policy families and people in difficult circumstances. Mr. Lam Phu Huu, Truong Hung area, said: "Recently, I was visited by ward youth union members who gave money and necessities to my family". Mr. Huu's family is a poor household. Mr. Huu, 80 years old, lives with his daughter who is infected with Agent Orange. Currently, Mr. Huu and his daughter live on state subsidies as well as support from local organizations and philanthropists. Since the beginning of the year, the Truong Lac Ward Youth Union has coordinated with the Ward Veterans Association and the O Mon District Medical Center to organize a delegation to visit and give gifts to 9 policy families and people in difficult circumstances in the ward...
Mr. Huynh Van Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Truong Lac Ward Youth Union, added: “In addition to the above works and tasks, since the beginning of the year, the Truong Lac Ward Youth Union has also coordinated with Can Tho University of Technology to organize environmental sanitation, collect waste and clear the congested flow of Dat Set - Xeo De canal, 5km long in Tan Thanh and Tan Binh areas; organize "Painting murals for a beautiful school for children" at the Independent Kindergarten in Truong Hung area with a total cost of 15 million VND with 80 youth union members and students participating. In the coming time, the Ward Youth Union will continue to promote volunteer activities for community life, actively participate in social security activities, environmental protection... thereby contributing to building an increasingly rich and beautiful homeland".
