Beware of continued thunderstorms and proactively respond to natural disasters

DNO - On July 6, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Nang City said that it has continued to issue an official dispatch requesting departments, branches, units and localities to be on guard against continued thunderstorms in the city, especially in the afternoon and evening; to be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms and to proactively respond to all types of natural disasters.

Accordingly, departments, branches, localities and units closely monitor disaster forecasts and warnings; be ready to deploy disaster prevention and control plans; inspect and review residential areas, agency headquarters, workplaces and military bases of agencies and units in areas at high risk of landslides, flash floods and inundation; and proactively take measures to ensure safety.

Project management boards and investors of projects under construction are ready to deploy plans to prevent heavy rain for projects; deploy measures to prevent flooding and clear water flows for residential areas due to unfinished projects.

The People's Committees of communes and wards continue to review and prepare to evacuate people in areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides; coordinate with relevant units to prepare forces, means, equipment, and essential supplies according to the "4 on-site" motto to be ready to respond to natural disasters; notify the natural disaster situation so that people can proactively respond; mobilize people to clear and not obstruct the flow of canals and water intakes in front of their houses to ensure effective drainage.

The Department of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with relevant units to direct the implementation of plans to prevent and combat flooding, clear drainage ditches; direct the effective operation of the Nam My reservoir (Hoa Lien Water Plant project), ensure the safety of the dam, reservoir, and the lives and property of people in the reservoir area and downstream of the dam.

Hai Chau ward authorities put up warning tape in the construction area to ensure safety for passersby.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs localities, tourist areas, outdoor entertainment areas... to ensure safety for tourists, infrastructure... when natural disasters occur.
