On October 28, information from the Dak Nong Provincial Department of Health said that the General Hospital of this province had just saved the life of a patient who was cutting grass when the mower accidentally hit a rock, the blade broke and was deeply embedded in the chest.
Previously, Dak Nong Provincial General Hospital received male patient MVD (residing in Dak Som commune, Dak Glong district, Dak Nong) who had a grass cutter blade deeply embedded in the left chest wall, causing blood loss, heart compression, difficulty breathing and falling into a critical state.
The reason was that when Mr. D. went to cut grass, the blade of the mower accidentally hit a rock, broke off and flew up, deeply embedded in his left chest wall. His family took him to Dak Glong District General Hospital for emergency treatment in critical condition.

When Dak Glong District General Hospital transferred the patient to another hospital and admitted him to Dak Nong Provincial General Hospital, he was in a bad condition, in shock, with unmeasurable blood pressure, severe chest pain, and continuous and increasing difficulty breathing.
After examination, ultrasound and X-ray, the medical team of Dak Nong General Hospital determined that the patient had a metal foreign object deeply embedded in the left chest wall, causing a large amount of pericardial effusion.
After more than 3 hours of thoracotomy to remove the foreign object, relieve cardiac tamponade, and stop bleeding from the pericardial wound, the surgery was successful and the patient was saved. During the thoracotomy to remove the foreign object, the patient was transfused with 1,000 ml of blood from the hospital's blood reserve.
After 2 days of timely emergency care, the patient is now conscious, vital signs are stable, no pain or difficulty breathing, and eating well.
Through this, the authorities also warn of the risk of accidents occurring during the production and labor process of people in Dak Nong province. Each person needs to be more vigilant and fully equipped with labor protection to avoid unfortunate accidents like the case of the patient mentioned above.
