COVID-19 epidemic today: New infections increase highest since the beginning of the year

Regarding the COVID-19 epidemic situation today , the Ministry of Health said that from 4:00 p.m. on April 10 to 4:00 p.m. on April 11, the whole country recorded 183 infections, an increase of 70 cases compared to the previous day. This is also the day the whole country recorded the highest number of infections in many months.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 11,528,042 infections, ranking 13th out of 230 countries and territories.

During the day, 36 more patients were announced to be cured, bringing the total number of cured cases to 10,615,134. The number of patients currently on oxygen is 10.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,186, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 230 territories, and the number of deaths per 1 million people ranks 141st out of 230 countries and territories in the world .

On April 10, 10,221 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were injected. Thus, the total number of doses of vaccine injected is 266,032,619 doses.

According to information from Thanh Nhan Hospital ( Hanoi ), the number of COVID-19 patients has been increasing in recent days. In March, the hospital recorded 25 patients, but since the beginning of April, it has recorded 75 patients. Currently, there are about 10 inpatients, many of whom require oxygen.

Epidemiologists warn that the epidemic still has the potential to break out with many new variants of SARS-CoV-2, while the effectiveness of vaccines gradually decreases over time, so full and timely booster vaccination is still an important and effective measure in preventing and fighting the epidemic and protecting people's health.
