The total enrollment target of the Border Guard Academy is 250. The Border Guard major has 230 targets (108 targets in the North, 122 targets in the South). The Law major has 20 targets (14 targets in the North, 6 targets in the South).

The Academy uses three admission methods:

- Method 1: Direct admission, priority given to candidates who have won national and international awards according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Ministry of National Defense .

- Method 2: Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025.

- Method 3: Admission based on the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam for candidates who register for admission, with scores of subjects in the High School Graduation Exam suitable for the admission combination.

Regarding the rules for converting equivalent input thresholds and admission scores between admission methods, admission methods, and admission combinations; when there are instructions from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of National Defense, there will be a specific announcement later.

Admission combinations:

• Border Guard (consists of 5 groups): A01, C00, C01, C03, D01.
• Law (including 4 groups): C00, C01, C03, D01.

Candidates are only allowed to apply for one military school. During the application period, candidates are allowed to adjust their application to other military schools. They do not have to transfer their application to the school they are applying for.

Candidates can only register one wish (the first wish, the highest wish) to the Border Guard Academy right from the time of making the preliminary application; can only register for one major (Border Guard or Law); candidates can register for the remaining wishes at non-military schools, the registration is carried out according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
