On the afternoon of June 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Departmentof Education and Training announced the admission scores for grade 10 of more than 100 public schools for the 2025-2026 school year, regular system.
The admission score is the sum of three subjects: Literature, Math, Foreign Language and priority points (if any). Candidates can register for three wishes to enter regular grade 10, the standard score in the following wishes must not be lower than the previous wish.
This year, Tran Dai Nghia Middle and High School has the highest admission score in the city at 24.5 points, an increase of 4.5 points. This is also the school with the highest competition ratio of 1/2.9.
Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School ranked second with a benchmark score of 23.75 points. Nguyen Thuong Hien and Nguyen Huu Huan High Schools both had 23.5 points; Ho Chi Minh City University of Education Practice High School and Nguyen Huu Cau High School both had 23 points.
Schools with high benchmark scores, above 22 points, include Tran Phu High School with 22.75 points, Phu Nhuan, Mac Dinh Chi, Le Quy Don and Bui Thi Xuan High Schools with the same benchmark score of 22.25 points.
The lowest benchmark score is 10.5 points, with 14 schools taking the same level. Compared to last year, most schools have benchmark scores that have decreased from 0.25 to 4.75 points, such as Nguyen Thi Dieu High School, which has decreased from 15.25 to 10.5 points; Gia Dinh High School has a benchmark score of 18.75, a decrease of 4.25 points, no longer in the top 10 schools with the highest benchmark scores in the city.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City has about 76,000 candidates taking the 10th grade public entrance exam, a decrease of about 22,000 students compared to last year.
The total enrollment target of public schools in the area is 70,070 places, the admission rate is over 91% - the highest in recent years.
In recent years, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School has always been at the top in terms of benchmark scores, with 24 points or more.
Schools in the top 10 with the highest admission scores, from 22 points, include Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Gia Dinh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Phu Nhuan, Mac Dinh Chi, Le Quy Don, and Nguyen Huu Cau.
According to the plan, candidates will confirm their admission online to the schools they have been admitted to at https://ts10.hcm.edu.vn, from after knowing their admission scores until 4:00 p.m. on July 1.
From July 3 to July 10, candidates admitted to all types of schools and classes will carry out admission procedures directly at the school that the candidate has previously confirmed through the online system.
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training notes that candidates who do not complete admission procedures will be considered eliminated from the admission list.
Analysis of the score distribution data of the subjects previously announced by the Department of Education and Training shows that, compared to last year, the results of the Literature exam remained stable, the Foreign Language exam slightly decreased; while the Math exam was higher than last year and the number of exams below average scores decreased significantly.
This year's exam had 524 papers scoring 10 points, less than last year.
