On July 28, in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee of the Campaign to Build Vietnamese Corporate Culture (Committee 248) held a press conference to inform about the organization of the annual National Forum "Culture with Enterprises" and launch the program to review and recognize "Enterprises meeting Vietnamese business culture standards" for the third time in 2023.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, Head of Committee 248, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for the Development of Business Culture (VNABC) said that the purpose of the Forum is to contribute to the realization of the Party and State's guidelines, policies and strategies on building Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development; affirm the role and importance of culture in creating a healthy business environment; exploit cultural potential, strengths and resources as an important lever and support for economic recovery and development.
The Forum is also an opportunity for Party and State leaders to meet and exchange with the business community, listen to recommendations and proposals on mechanisms and policies to support businesses in economic recovery and development; honor businesses that meet Vietnamese Business Culture standards; and widely spread the Campaign "Building Vietnamese Corporate Culture" launched by the Prime Minister.
The highlight of the Forum is the Workshop “Business Culture - Development and Integration Flow” with discussion contents such as: The “Gain and Loss” values in Vietnamese business culture through historical development periods: What is proud (built and preserved until today) and What is regrettable (already existed but lost in the process of development and integration); Identifying and naming the identity of Vietnamese business culture (of Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs): Who are we and what core values do we represent; Solutions to help Vietnamese businesses “integrate but not dissolve”, orienting the integration efforts of Vietnamese business culture in the context of a multipolar world (VUCA) and the technological revolution, digital transformation, and the ability to utilize technology/digital transformation for the development of business culture.
In particular, within the framework of the Forum, there will be a ceremony to honor and award the certificate of "Enterprise meeting Vietnamese Business Culture standards" in 2023.
After the success of 2021 and 2022, the program to review and recognize "Enterprises meeting Vietnamese Business Culture standards" in 2023 continues to be organized to honor and recognize enterprises that have applied and implemented business culture well, meeting the standards and criteria of Vietnamese business culture selected by the National Review Council based on the set of criteria that the Prime Minister directed the Ministries and branches to participate in building and with the intellectual and dedicated contributions of scientists, experts, business representatives and the press.
Notably, according to Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, businesses registering to participate in the program do not have to pay any fees and the Organizing Committee does not receive sponsorship from businesses registering to participate in the program. "This is a decision to ensure the awarding process is public, transparent, and fair," Mr. Tuan emphasized.
Within the framework of the Forum, the Organizing Committee will organize a delegation of businesses to meet with leaders of the Party, State, leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The delegation includes businesses recognized as meeting Vietnamese Business Culture standards in 2021, 2022 and 2023, along with a number of businesses that have made outstanding achievements in responding to the Campaign "Building Vietnamese Business Culture" in recent times.
Sharing about the role of developing culture in enterprises, Mr. Hong Sun - Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Vietnam (KOCHAM) cited that large corporations and enterprises in Korea and Vietnam such as Samsung, Viettel, Vinfast... have all built a solid corporate culture with its own core values.
"Strong and growing businesses all have a strong corporate culture. If a business does not have a culture, it will be like a person without direction or goals. A business with a positive culture will attract potential employees, giving the organization a great competitive advantage," Mr. Hong Sun emphasized.
