Vietnamese Athletics Ready to Conquer Asian Athletics Championships

The Vietnamese athletics team has arrived in Korea to officially begin their journey to compete at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships, taking place from May 27 to May 31, 2025 in Gumi City (Korea).

This is the highest tournament of continental athletics, gathering top athletes from 45 Athletics Federations of 45 Asian countries and territories, where the speed, strength, bravery and pride of Asian Athletics converge.

The Vietnamese sports delegation participated in the tournament with 17 athletes and 7 coaches, including many faces who have achieved resounding victories at the SEA Games and international arenas, carrying with them aspirations, determination and the mission of representing the flag. Athletes participating in the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships include: Nguyen Thi Oanh (1,500m, 5,000m), Nguyen Trung Cuong (3,000m hurdles), Sam Van Doi, Luong Duc Phuoc (800m, 1,500m), Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (800m, 1,500m), Le Ngoc Phuc, Ta Ngoc Tuong (400m, 4x400m mixed), Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Nguyen Thi Hang, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh (4x400m women, 4x400m mixed), Quach Thi Lan (400m hurdles, 4x400m mixed), Tran Thi Nhi Yen (100m, 200m, 4x400m mixed), Huynh Thi My Tien (100m hurdles), Bui Thi Kim Anh (high jump), Vu Thi Ngoc Ha, Tran Thi Loan (long jump), Nguyen Thi Huong, Tran Thi Loan (three-step jump).

The coaching staff includes the following coaches: Head of Delegation Nguyen Manh Hieu and coaches Tran Van Sy, Nguyen Van Loi, Vu Ngoc Loi, Nguyen Ngoc Quang, Nguyen Thi Bac, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong.

The 2025 Asian Championship is not only an opportunity for athletes to compete and improve their skills, but also an opportunity for Vietnamese athletics to affirm its position on the regional sports map and aim for bigger goals such as the 33rd SEA Games and the 2028 Paris Olympic qualifiers.
