Glenn Martens still does not disappoint fans.
Since joining Diesel in October 2020, there’s no denying that Glenn Martens has transformed the character of Diesel in the past. Under his stewardship, the Italian brand has become a modern favorite, especially in the fashion industry, thanks to its undeniably sexy style that blends the hallmarks of cool, chic, and exploratory dressing. Martens isn’t afraid to express his vision, and the brand’s new collection for Resort 2025 is no different.
For its pre-season/resort collections, the brand has often opted for digital lookbooks rather than full runway presentations. But even without the high-energy catwalks, drama was woven throughout the new collection. Resort 2025 had all the Martens hallmarks, whether it was the glamorous silhouettes, the small cutouts, the fabric combinations, or the twists. Effortlessly cool, the collection included plenty of slightly oversized blazers and outerwear, sport coats, long dresses, slim-fit knits, ribbed sweaters, low-cut dresses, graphic tees, and, of course, Diesel’s undying obsession with denim.
“This is a collection that blurs the lines: is tailoring smart or casual? Is it a denim piece, or is it trompe l’oeil? And with our new underwear, is it a sensitive item or a ready-to-wear piece,” Glenn Martens said in a press release. “Diesel defies convention, breaking the norm to live on its own terms, this is the path to a successful life.”
But what consistently stands out across the line-up is the brand’s successful styling. Whether it’s pairing a grey leather jacket with just tube socks and heels, a ribbed sweater with a leather skirt and matching leather pants, or a moto jacket with cotton shorts and printed tights, Diesel’s penchant for modern layering makes dressing look effortless. But it’s still the edgy, cool attitude at its core.
