On the afternoon of November 6, on the way to the market, Vu Phuong Trang and her husband encountered a young man picking up hundreds of broken eggs in front of the lobby of an apartment building in Gia Lam district ( Hanoi ).

"She was alone collecting eggs, I felt sorry for her so I asked for her account number and helped her a little," Trang recalled.

At first, the young man did not dare to accept, but after being advised by some residents around, he agreed. According to the bank account number, Ms. Trang only knew the young man's name was Nguyen Van Long.

When she got home, she posted the image on social media to call for support from the online community. "The image of the young man carrying eggs still lingers in my mind, so I want to spread it," she said.

After a few hours, many of Ms. Trang's friends and even strangers simultaneously transferred money, contributing from 50,000 VND to 200,000 VND, sent directly to the account number of the person having the problem.

Mr. Nguyen Van Long, 29 years old, living in Gia Lam district, said that morning he transported 80 trays of various types of eggs (about 2,400 eggs) from the warehouse in Phu Thuy to deliver rice to the apartment building.

When arriving at building S217, the motorbike chain slipped, got stuck in the axle, causing the vehicle to fall. About 40 trays of eggs fell onto the road, causing damage of more than 2 million VND.

"Ms. Trang said she wanted to help, but I didn't dare accept, because I knew this was my own problem," he said.

Receiving 200,000 VND from the helper, he calculated that he could recover 3 trays of eggs, the rest would be offset by his daily salary.

But since noon, his account has continuously reported receiving money, many people called to ask, then he found out that Ms. Trang posted to help on social media.

Mr. Long said that he has been in the egg business for 7 years and rarely has accidents, except for the occasional broken tray of eggs. The incident on November 6 was the biggest in his career, and he thought it "was a negative impact on his salary."

"I want to say thank you Trang and everyone. The amount of more than 2 million VND is a lot for me, helping me solve my work," said the young man.

Ms. Trang's article was reposted by many social networking groups, attracting more than 2,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

"This image is so pitiful. I know that each person has a different job and situation, but risks that happen at work are inevitable. I hope that in life there will be more kind hearts," wrote account Tran Thi Thuong.

"Only those in the profession can understand the feeling when the egg cart falls over. Normally, we spend 50,000 - 100,000 VND and it's gone in a flash, but helping someone in this situation feels very precious," wrote Tran Van Hanh.

Some opposing opinions say that Ms. Trang is intentionally "pretending" or "catching likes", but she doesn't care, she just wants to spread warmth in the midst of a harsh life.

"I think life is never easy, so be grateful for everything you have now. Honest workers should be helped, because they earn money with their hands and effort," she said.
