Natural and cultural treasures
For generations, when mentioning Ca Mau, people immediately think of the land at the end of the Fatherland, where "golden forests and silver seas", where crisscrossing rivers blend with the vast sea and sky. Not only is Ca Mau blessed by nature, it also preserves a unique cultural treasure, with the strong imprint of the Kinh - Hoa - Khmer community. This unique convergence has become an important foundation for the locality to build a tourism brand, affirm its position on the national tourism map and reach out to the region.

The greatest strength of Ca Mau tourism is the pristine nature. The mangrove forest stretches over 63,000 hectares, is the "green lung" of the Mekong Delta, and is also recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve. Ca Mau sea with constantly accumulating alluvial flats, creating unique mangrove and mangrove forests - a place where hundreds of rare species of animals and plants converge. This is a golden potential for developing eco-tourism, experiencing nature and environmental education .
Along with nature is a unique cultural treasure. Ca Mau is the cradle of Southern amateur music - an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO, and is also the homeland of the Vong Co song Da Co Hoai Lang - the "soul" of Southern Cai Luong art. The system of cultural and spiritual relics such as Quan Am Phat Dai, Tac Say Church, and folk festivals associated with the Kinh - Hoa - Khmer community have created a diverse cultural space with rich identity.

In particular, Ca Mau’s culinary culture is also an unforgettable highlight. From the famous Ca Mau crab, Rach Goc salted crab, U Minh fish sauce hotpot, to rustic dishes made from forest and sea products - all create an unmistakable “flavor brand”.
Infrastructure - the key to tourism development
Realizing the growing role of tourism in socio-economic development, the leaders of Ca Mau province identified the main theme: "Positioning Ca Mau tourism brand in the overall national tourism".
At the seminar "Positioning Ca Mau tourism brand in the overall national tourism" organized by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province in coordination with the Vietnam Tourism Association on September 28 at Cong Tu Bac Lieu Hotel, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Ngo Vu Thang emphasized: in the context of global tourism strongly shifting towards green - smart - sustainable trends, Ca Mau calls for the cooperation of experts, businesses and communities to restructure the tourism industry, apply digital technology, promote green transformation, improve competitiveness and attract high-quality visitors.
Also here, tourism experts said that Ca Mau needs to clearly define the pillars of development: forest - sea - indigenous culture. Deputy Director of the Institute for Economic and Tourism Development Research, Dr. Duong Duc Minh proposed that the locality promote eco-tourism, experiential tourism, and high-end resorts associated with cultural identity and cuisine. Meanwhile, travel businesses emphasize unique experiences such as the "One day as a fisherman" tour, visiting mangrove forests by sampan, or immersing yourself in the melody of Don ca tai tu at the Khmer cultural village.
To realize the aspiration, Ca Mau is focusing on investing in key infrastructure. Key projects such as the Can Tho - Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway, Hon Khoai Port Cluster, and the upgrade of Ca Mau Airport, when completed, will shorten the distance, eliminate traffic "bottlenecks", and bring Ca Mau closer to major tourist centers such as Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, and Can Tho.
Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai once shared: tourism is an important economic sector, contributing to promoting the local image, promoting growth, preserving culture and the environment. However, currently, the infrastructure is not synchronous, promoting the brand "the southernmost point of the Fatherland" is not strong enough, service quality is uneven, human resources are unprofessional, regional connectivity is still loose. These are limitations that need to be overcome soon".
An important highlight in the positioning of Ca Mau tourism is the linkage strategy. Ho Chi Minh City has affirmed that it will accompany Ca Mau through promotional activities, organizing famtrips, connecting inter-regional tours Ho Chi Minh City - Bac Lieu - Ca Mau - Phu Quoc by road, waterway, and air. Thanks to that, tourists can experience a continuous journey, from big cities to river areas, from indigenous culture to islands, creating a strong attraction.
Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh also said that Ca Mau needs to preserve the pristine nature of its resources, combining conservation with sustainable exploitation; at the same time, develop new products suitable to the tastes of international visitors to become a typical destination of the Mekong Delta.
To realize the vision, Ca Mau province has launched a program to develop typical tourism products, focusing on four groups: cultural tourism - ecological experience; cultural - historical, spiritual tourism; cultural - culinary tourism; developing professional tourism human resources. This tourism positioning seminar is not only an opportunity to review the potential, but also to demonstrate the local aspiration: to turn tourism into a driving economic sector, a regional linkage center, creating a new growth pole for the Ca Mau peninsula and the entire Mekong Delta.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau Nguyen Quoc Thanh said: the province will concretize the opinions of experts and businesses into priority programs and projects on infrastructure, promotion, inter-provincial product linkage, training of high-quality human resources, aiming for rapid and sustainable development.
