On October 7, the People's Committee of Hue City announced that it had issued a plan to collect, digitize, preserve, restore and promote the value of Han - Nom documents in Hue City in the period of 2026 - 2030.
According to this plan, continuing to collect and supplement Han-Nom documents in Hue City will contribute to preserving rare heritage values. Along with that, increasing the application of information technology in preserving and promoting the value of Han-Nom heritage, forming a scientific database, creating favorable conditions for searching, accessing and using this source of documents.
The collection and digitization focuses on rare Han-Nom documents such as royal decrees, royal decrees, royal orders, genealogical records, land registers, birth certificates, diplomas, administrative documents, literature books, history books, medical books, village conventions, prayers... that are still preserved in villages, groups, clans, private homes, and religious establishments in the area.
The implementation content is also required to classify, catalog and preserve documents according to the principles of library science; in addition, determine the value, select, repair, restore and safely store, increase the life of documents; in addition, organize the compilation, publication and dissemination of publications introducing Han - Nom documents. At the same time, organize exhibitions, displays, communication and promotion of heritage to the community.
Not stopping there, these documents must also be multilingual, ensuring connectivity between city libraries and local libraries; enhancing cooperation and academic exchange at home and abroad...
