For vehicles on the highway from Hanoi to Vinh:

If the vehicle is traveling on the North-South expressway from Hanoi, after reaching the intersection of the North-South expressway with National Highway 7 in Dien Cat commune (Dien Chau), if you want to go to Vinh, go about 20 km to the intersection with N5 road (National Highway 7C) in Nghi Phuong commune, Nghi Loc, then turn to Vinh or go about 20 km more to the intersection with National Highway 46B, in Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen) to take the turn down to Vinh.

If the vehicle does not go to Vinh but to the southern provinces, follow National Highway 1A (Vinh bypass) to Ben Thuy II bridge to go to Ha Tinh .

For vehicles from Vinh wanting to take the highway to Hanoi:

Other road vehicles from the South, after crossing Ben Thuy II bridge, follow National Highway 1A (Vinh bypass), to the intersection with National Highway 46B at VSIP Industrial Park, Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, turn left to the West for about 1 km, then turn right along the access road to enter the North-South expressway.

In case vehicles from Vinh city want to get on the highway, follow National Highway 46B through Dang Thai Mai Street where Bac Vinh Industrial Park and VSIP Industrial Park in Hung Tay Commune are located, pass the intersection with Vinh bypass about 1 km, then turn right as directed to get on the highway.

For vehicles from Cua Lo Town, Nghi Loc District, who want to go on the highway, follow N5, from the intersection with National Highway 1 in Nghi Long Commune, Nghi Loc, drive about 10 km, cross the highway overpass in Nghi Phuong and turn right to get on the highway. In case vehicles from Dien Chau want to get on the North-South highway to go to Hanoi, follow National Highway 7 to the South to the intersection in Dien Cat Commune.

Currently, because the section from National Highway 46B (VSIP Industrial Park) through Hung Duc Bridge to Bai Vot (Ha Tinh) has not been completed, vehicles going up and down the highway from Vinh City can only get on or off at the intersection with National Highway 46B in Hung Tay Commune (near VSIP Industrial Park). The remaining 10 km, from the intersection with National Highway 46B to Bai Vot, is expected to be completed in the third quarter.

The North-South Expressway, Dien Chau - Bai Vot section is one of 11 component projects of the North-South Expressway in the East, with a length of 49.3 km, of which 44.4 km passes through Nghe An and 4.93 km passes through Ha Tinh. The project has a total investment of 11,157 billion VND invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), of which 5,090 billion is mobilized by joint venture contractors, 6,067 billion VND is state budget capital. The project started construction in May 2022 and after nearly 2 years of implementation, it is expected to be put into operation in May 2024 .
