According to Decision No. 2357/QD-BNN-KL dated June 14, 2023 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , as of December 31, 2022, the forest area of the whole country, including planted forests with closed canopy, is 14,790,075 hectares, of which natural forests are 10,134,082 hectares and planted forests are 4,655,993 hectares.
The national coverage rate is 42.02%.
