Measuring customs clearance time promotes import and export of goods

Every day, at Huu Nghi international border gate, thousands of import and export trucks cross the border. Time is measured from the time the customs officer approves the documents on the electronic system until the goods officially leave the warehouse.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung - Director of Thien Ha Thanh Company said: "The core of doing logistics business is transportation and time of goods transportation. If we measure the time to control goods, as well as do procedures, I expect that reducing the time in the total logistics process chain will help us bring about great efficiency."

Ms. Hoang Thi Le - Director of Blue Sky Import Export Company shared: "Faster customs clearance time will save money on vehicle storage, less fuel costs, and improve the competitiveness of businesses."

Not only recording the process, the measurement of customs clearance time also directly reflects the level of convenience for businesses. According to the Customs Branch of Region VI, in August 2025 alone, the import-export turnover of goods through Lang Son border gates reached more than 9 billion USD, an increase of nearly 18% compared to July - the highest level since the beginning of the year.

Mr. Ngo Lam Son - Deputy Team Leader, Huu Nghi International Border Gate Customs Team commented: "By measuring the time to release the shipment, we will measure the actual time, each stage of the operation, and the remaining stages. On the basis of implementing solutions, coordinate with units to carry out procedures quickly, promptly, in accordance with regulations and effectively."
