In an effort to control and handle speculation and land price inflation, Hanoi has piloted online auctions for the right to lease service business space in a number of apartment buildings.

At the online auction room of the Vietnam Auction Joint Stock Company, there is no longer the chaotic situation of queuing to participate in the auction as before. All auction activities will be conducted online, people can use the authentic identification information VNEID to register for the auction.

Ms. Lam Thi Mai Anh - Director of Vietnam Auction Joint Stock Company said: "For online real estate auctions or online real estate leases, it will help customers locate and price assets more accurately, in accordance with the buyer's value. That is, customers do not meet each other directly, there is no discussion or collusion on price is impossible. This leads to the value being in accordance with the market value, without price pushing or virtual price".

On October 16, there were 40 business premises in 7 apartment buildings managed by the Hanoi City Housing Management Center. With a total service business area of ​​over 15,000 m2 and an exploitation period of 5 years, a business premises will be auctioned in 20 minutes, with each price step being 5,000 VND/m2/month. All information about the price steps will be clearly and publicly displayed on the auction website. Initially, the implementation of online auctions promises to help strictly control the situation of land price inflation, thereby helping real estate prices to be closer to actual demand.

Mr. Tran Van Truong - Hanoi resident shared: "Before, when there was no online auction, if I wanted to rent a space, I had to go there to survey, the value was not necessarily the real value. With this online auction, I can go to the website and check the information, accurate images, specific value, I just need to make a profile, bid online and register".

Not only providing a solution to help make the real estate market more transparent, online auctions also help increase revenue and avoid losses to the State budget. This auction attracted more than 150 participants, by the end of the afternoon of October 16, all 40 points had been successfully auctioned, helping to collect nearly 45 billion VND in budget revenue.
