The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs has just requested local businesses to promptly develop and announce plans to pay salaries and bonuses for the New Year and Lunar New Year 2026, in order to ensure stable labor relations during the peak period at the end of the year.
The agency requires businesses to coordinate with employee representative organizations to agree on salary and bonus payment plans based on contracts, labor agreements, and internal regulations. The Tet bonus plan must be completed before December 20 and clearly announced to employees, including bonus levels, support payments, Tet holiday time, and salary payment schedules.
All information related to salary, bonuses, allowances (Tet gifts, train/bus ticket support home, etc.), Tet holiday time, annual leave and payment time must be informed early and fully so that employees are fully aware.
Businesses are reminded to pay on time and avoid unpaid wages and bonuses - factors that can easily lead to labor disputes at the end of the year.
In case of difficulty in payment, enterprises must promptly discuss with the organization representing the collective of workers and report to competent authorities such as the Department of Culture - Social Affairs of the commune/ward, the grassroots Trade Union, working groups of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the Management Board of Export Processing Zones - Industrial Parks, the Management Board of High-Tech Parks... to receive coordinated support.
The Department also encourages businesses to increase dialogue and sign collective labor agreements to ensure workers' welfare.
