Thanks to the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, many typical residential areas in the province have mobilized and gathered people to join hands in implementing self-management models on infrastructure, education, security and environment with positive results. This activity not only brightens the roads and beautifies the alleys, but also improves the material and spiritual life of the people and unites the community.

After 2 years, we returned to Tay 2 village (Dien Dien commune) on a weekend evening. Lights stretched across the roads, illuminating every path. Clumps of hoof flowers, bougainvillea... on both sides of the road showed off their colors in the night wind. The sounds of people walking and children's bicycles echoed in the peaceful countryside space. Mr. Pham Huy Chuan - Head of the Front Committee of Tay 2 village said: "Previously, people were afraid to go out at night. Since the implementation of the model "Lighting up the countryside roads", people have been able to travel conveniently, evening activities are more vibrant, security and order are ensured. Families have voluntarily contributed labor, light bulbs, and plants to make the village roads bright - clean - beautiful". Up to now, the village has mobilized the implementation of 4 "Lighting up the countryside roads" models with a total length of more than 4.5km; more than 90% of the roads have electricity, making it convenient for people to travel.

The Cultural House - Sports Area of ​​Tay 2 village was also lit up even though it was nearly 8pm. Inside, the clear reading voice echoed from the free English class organized by the Village Front Committee in collaboration with an English teacher. The model of "Free English Communication Class" has been maintained for nearly 2 years. Due to the effectiveness of the model, up to now, the class has more than 40 people and students attending regularly every Sunday evening.

Building model villages

In addition to the self-management models, Tay 2 village is also a bright spot in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", every year 95-97% of households are recognized as cultural families. Social security, education promotion, and community health care are well maintained; the bright - green - clean - beautiful environment is maintained. For many consecutive years, Tay 2 village has achieved the title of cultural village.

In Thanh Son village (Xuan Hai commune), walking on clean concrete roads, winding between green hedges and colorful flower beds planted and cared for by the people, we could clearly feel the changes in this countryside. The houses are carefully tended with small, pretty gardens, filled with trees and flowers, creating a fresh and peaceful living space. That achievement comes from the synchronous implementation of self-management models: "National flag road", "Model flower road", "Mural road", "Lighting up the countryside road", "Security camera"... implemented by the Village Front Committee and socio- political organizations.

In addition to landscape construction, the village also mobilized people to change the crop structure to increase income. Many households boldly converted ineffective rice land to grow green grapes, apples, golden melons... bringing a stable source of income. The whole village currently has 210 hectares of natural land, including: 65 hectares of land for 3-crop rice cultivation, 115 hectares of land for annual crops, 30 hectares of non- agricultural land. The average income of people is about 7 - 8 million VND/month, the village has only 1 poor household and 4 near-poor households. Mr. Nguyen Cong (Thanh Son village) shared: “In the past, my family's garden grew all kinds of plants according to my preferences. Since the Village Front launched the model village construction campaign, with technical guidance from officials, I have re-planned and converted ^{2,400m2 of} ineffective rice land to grow green grapes and apples, applying scientific care processes. Up to now, the garden is not only beautiful but also brings in an income of 160 to 180 million VND/year.”

According to Mr. Bui Dan Thinh - Head of the Thanh Son Village Front Committee, the success of Thanh Son Village today is first of all thanks to the consensus of the people. At the same time, the Front and the village's departments, branches and organizations always do a good job of propaganda and mobilization so that each person understands the meaning of building self-management models, thereby voluntarily participating and contributing. When the people are truly the subject, all difficulties can be overcome. In the coming time, the Village Front will continue to coordinate with organizations to promote propaganda, enhance the responsibility of each citizen in building a new model rural area; develop agricultural production according to the value chain, encourage farmers to produce organic and high-tech agriculture associated with brand building to increase income. Branches and associations continue to promote their role in protecting the environment, building a bright - green - clean - beautiful landscape. The village also promotes socialization, mobilizes resources to improve people's infrastructure, launches emulation movements to promote the role of the people as the main subject...

The whole province currently has more than 2,500 self-management models, many of which are in residential areas with clear results such as: "Flower route", "Lighting up the countryside road", "Residential area protecting the environment"... contributing to creating a bright - green - clean - beautiful landscape, supporting livelihoods, reducing poverty and improving people's lives.
