(HQ Online) - 500 people in a border commune in An Giang with difficult circumstances were connected by the Youth Union of An Giang Customs Department with the volunteer group "Following the footsteps of doctors and friends" to provide free medical examination and treatment.

On March 22, the Youth Union of An Giang Customs Department and the Volunteer Group "Following the footsteps of doctors and friends" coordinated to organize the program "Spring Footprints" and "Lighting up the road" in Nui Sam ward, Chau Doc city, An Giang.

The program aims to support people in difficult circumstances to receive free health consultation, medical examination and treatment. Thereby, contributing to the effective implementation of socialized health care, improving the quality of people's lives and ensuring social security.

Youth project lights up rural roads

Participating in the program "Spring Footprints", the group "Following the footsteps of doctors and friends", with the connection of the grassroots Youth Unions of An Giang Customs Department, a number of local units, the working group of 58 doctors and nurses from many major hospitals in Hanoi City, a number of businesses and volunteers performed health check-ups, provided free medicine and gave gifts to 500 people and children in difficult circumstances in Nui Sam ward, with a total value of 500 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen The Luong, Deputy Director of Hanoi Kidney Hospital, Head of the Volunteer Group "Following the Doctor's Footsteps" and Secretary of the Youth Union of An Giang Customs Department received flowers of thanks from the locality.

At the same time, the youth project installed 20 solar lights to light up the road along Canal 7, in Vinh Phuoc 1 Hamlet, Nui Sam Ward, with a total value of 45 million VND.

The noble gesture of the medical team, doctors and volunteers from Hanoi City and the youth union members of An Giang Customs Department received high appreciation from the local authorities as well as the people of the border commune of An Giang.
