The cooperation between the two companies will promote the development of science and technology products in the field of green energy, initially providing comprehensive energy solutions for batteries, charging stations and ecosystems for electric vehicles produced by the two units, bringing customers electric motorbike products and a synchronous and convenient infrastructure system.
Assessing this cooperation, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology emphasized: “The cooperation between the two sides brings comprehensive solutions for batteries, charging stations and ecosystems for electric motorbikes produced by the two units. In addition, the cooperation demonstrates the solidarity of Vietnamese enterprises - pioneering enterprises to make electric vehicles the main means of transport in the near future, contributing to concretizing the Government's policies and guidelines for the transport sector”.
Accordingly, at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), Vietnam pledged to bring net emissions to "zero" by 2050. Regarding the transport sector, on July 22, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 876/QD-TTg approving the Action Program on green energy conversion, reducing carbon and methane emissions of the transport sector, which stipulates: In the 2025-2040 period, the production, installation, and import of gasoline and oil-powered cars, motorbikes, and scooters will be stopped; in the 2022-2030 period, people will be encouraged to switch to personal vehicles (motorbikes, motorbikes, and cars) that use electricity.
VinES is an enterprise that researches, develops and produces high-quality batteries for electric vehicles and green energy solutions. With a factory in the VinFast Hai Phong complex (Hai Phong city) and Vung Ang economic zone (Ha Tinh province), VinES is currently the largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer in Southeast Asia. VinES products are being used domestically and exported to foreign markets. Son Ha Group is a national brand with 25 years of manufacturing essential products for domestic consumers. Over the years, Son Ha Group has gradually transformed its production orientation towards green products and clean energy. Officially inaugurating the factory and manufacturing electric two-wheeled vehicles under the brands EVGO, ECOOTER Vietnam in 2020, to date, Son Ha Group has produced nearly 10 different electric motorbike models.
Explaining why Son Ha Group chose to cooperate with VinES in the field of battery production and infrastructure for electric vehicles, Mr. Hoang Manh Tan, Deputy General Director of Son Ha Group, said that in terms of lithium battery production, there are only a few factories in the world, and in Southeast Asia, there is only VinES. "We have confidence in the products of domestic corporations like Vingroup. The implementation of cooperation will contribute to providing Vietnamese consumers with good products on the market, proactively replacing batteries, repairing vehicles, not depending on foreign manufacturers and moving towards exporting products to international markets," Mr. Hoang Manh Tan shared.
