Transforming "green manufacturing"

Brother Vietnam Industrial Co., Ltd. in Phuc Dien Industrial Park (Cam Giang) is a 100% Japanese-invested enterprise. Each year, the company produces 1 million printers, fax machines, electronic devices... and about 2 million products of accessories, spare parts, components, and details for the above types of machinery. To serve production, the company uses an average of 3.2 million kWh of electricity per month.

Sharing experiences on energy saving at a recent customer conference organized by Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd., a representative of Brother Vietnam Company said that in addition to implementing energy saving solutions, the company has invested in modern, high-performance machinery systems to optimize the production process and minimize energy consumption.

In 2024, the company will improve and use the latest energy-saving technologies for a number of plastic molding production equipment systems, PCB circuit board production, air conditioning systems, air compressor control systems, etc. Thereby, saving more than 281,000 kWh/year.

The company invested in rooftop solar power systems, contributing to diversifying energy sources and reducing dependence on grid power. Currently, the company is stably operating two solar power systems with a total power generation capacity of 1,006 kW.

In the process of steel production, Hoa Phat Group must use a large amount of electricity, water, coal... Therefore, saving energy and protecting the environment are always the top concerns of the group. At the Hoa Phat Hai Duong Iron and Steel Complex, the group has applied clean coke production technology to recover heat - an environmentally friendly and energy-saving production technology. With this technology, the Hoa Phat Hai Duong Iron and Steel Complex currently has a power generation capacity of 64 MW, equivalent to self-sufficiency of about 70% of electricity for production.

The Group has upgraded the high-pressure cold water slag granulation system and invested in an additional blast furnace slag grinding line at the Hai Duong Iron and Steel Production Complex. At the same time, many measures have been applied to handle dust in the steel production process. Iron-containing dust recovered during the steel smelting process and steel rolling scales are all reused in production stages, saving costs and contributing to environmental protection...

Energy conversion and the application of "green production" processes have helped these businesses gain additional green certifications to expand export markets.

Double benefit

Using renewable energy, including rooftop solar power, is also a way for many businesses to achieve green certification in production.

The transition to "green production" in businesses brings double benefits. It is not only about saving costs and increasing competitive advantage, but also about businesses joining hands to contribute to environmental protection.
