Stick to the original for translation
In Vietnam, Ve ve gia dinh was translated into Vietnamese by translator Ha Mai Anh, and later translated by translator Nguyen Bich Hang under the name Cuoc doi thuong buoc cua Roman Canbri . Both translations were introduced to readers more than 30 years ago, with some abridgements.
In this edition, translator Le Dinh Chi translated the entire work from the original French. Confiding to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Chi said that when translating the work, he tried to stick to the original content to translate it fully and accurately into Vietnamese.
"The difference, if any, between my translation and previous translations is mainly in each person's perspective. The biggest difficulty in translating closely to the original is the difference between the era in which the story takes place and today," said Mr. Chi.

Homecoming is Hector Malot's first novel about family and emotional and moraleducation for teenagers, published in 1869. The book marked the opening success for him to return with the famous Sans Famille nearly a decade later.
The work contains Hector Malot's strong message about the importance of progressive education.
With the character de Bihorel and through the knowledge and ways of being a human being he teaches Romain, Hector Malot affirms the role of education that nothing, not even money, can replace in creating healthy people both physically and mentally.
All of these lessons are gently spread by Hector Malot into his novel while still creating for it the shape of an attractive, captivating literary work that leaves a long-lasting sweet aftertaste in the reader's mind.
In addition to Khong gia dinh and Ve ve gia dinh , Dong A is also preparing to republish Trong gia dinh by Hector Malot with translation by Huynh Ly and Mai Huong.
In addition to the hardcover version, Dong A also released a paperback version of the book, to provide more options for readers.
Hector Malot was a famous French writer, born in 1830 in La Bouille, Northern France. His first work , Les Amants, published in 1859, caused a great stir.
During his career, he wrote over 70 works. Returning to the Family (1869), In the Family (1893) and especially Without a Family (1878) were extremely loved by young readers.
