In Asia, the Vietnamese women's team ranks only behind the giants including Japan, South Korea, Australia, China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Regionally, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team continue to hold the number 1 position in Southeast Asia, above opponents such as Thailand, the Philippines and Myanmar.
The current position helps the Vietnamese women's team maintain its advantage in upcoming international tournaments, while affirming the stability and sustainability of the country's women's football on the continental map.
Currently, the team is having an important training trip in Osaka (Japan), preparing for the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers, scheduled to start in Phu Tho from June 29.
In the recent friendly matches, the Vietnamese women's team showed impressive performance when they defeated Iga Kunoichi Mie FC 3-2 and Tezukayama Gakuin University 3-1, and also had a friendly match with Osaka University of Sports & Health Sciences on June 15.

In the global rankings, there was some movement in the top five. The United States continued to dominate the top spot, while reigning World Cup champions Spain held on to second place. Germany moved up to third after a string of successful friendlies.
Notably, Brazil made a leap by rising four places, returning to the top four for the first time since 2013, while England dropped one place to fifth.
Some other notable highlights include Colombia entering the top 20 for the first time at 18th place. Paraguay (45th) and Venezuela (48th) both achieved their highest rankings in the history of women's football in their home countries.
