Unprecedented record of Vietnam women's team
In 2023 at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, the Vietnamese women's team easily defeated Myanmar 2-0 in the final to win the gold medal in women's football, helping to ease the sadness when the Vietnamese U.23 men's team only won the bronze medal after also winning against Myanmar.
The joy of victory for coach Mai Duc Chung and his team was even sweeter and more exciting because they set an unprecedented record in the Southeast Asian Games , with 4 consecutive gold medals in women's football at the 30th to 33rd SEA Games.
Historically, Thailand won 3 consecutive gold medals at the SEA Games in 1985, 1995, 1997 (also the first 3 SEA Games to organize women's football), before the Vietnamese women's team won a hat-trick of championships in 2001, 2003, 2005.

The 33rd SEA Games, which will take place in Thailand next December, will be an opportunity for our diamond girls to aim to set a new record of 5 consecutive SEA Games gold medals.
Ready for the gold hunt
On October 21, the Vietnamese women's team officially entered the first training session of the 3rd training session in 2025, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ) to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
On the first day, Coach Mai Duc Chung had all 26 players in hand, except for the group of athletes from the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club who are actively preparing for the AFC Champions League Women's Championship which will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium next November.

Besides physical training, it is expected that our girls will have 3 friendly matches in Hanoi from now until November 20, before flying to Japan for training with 3 matches against "blue troops" which are suitable clubs arranged by the Japan Football Federation.
Even though they had to say goodbye to Tuyet Dung, the Vietnamese women's team is still very strong with veteran pillars like Huynh Nhu and Hai Yen alongside a team of young players who are maturing rapidly like Vu Thi Hoa and Ngoc Minh Chuyen...
