Vietnam team finalizes list for 2023 Women's World Cup

The five players who said goodbye to the Vietnamese women's team were goalkeeper Doan Thi Ngoc Phuong, defender Ha Thi Ngoc Uyen, midfielders Tran Nguyen Bao Chau, Nguyen Thi Truc Huong and striker Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan. Before leaving for training in Germany, coach Mai Duc Chung also removed Tran Thi Thu Xuan, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, Ngo Thi Hong Nhung, Le Thi Thuy Trang and Dinh Thi Thuy Dung.

Center back Chuong Thi Kieu is the most notable return of the Vietnamese team. She had to undergo surgery to completely treat a knee injury and missed the 31st and 32nd SEA Games. Coach Mai Duc Chung gave Chuong Thi Kieu the opportunity to play 15 minutes in a friendly match with the German team and she met the professional requirements.

Huynh Nhu is the captain of the Vietnamese women's team at the 2023 World Cup.

The outstanding stars of the Vietnamese women's team such as Kim Thanh, Tuyet Dung, Thanh Nha, Huynh Nhu, Hai Yen are all in good physical condition. Coach Mai Duc Chung also created opportunities for some young players such as Kieu Oanh, Hai Linh, Van Su and Vu Thi Hoa.

The Vietnam team is in the preparation stage for the 2023 Women's World Cup. Nutrition for players plays an important role in helping players improve their physical strength, ensuring the best physical condition for intense matches.

Huynh Nhu and her teammates are required to maintain their health with strict living conditions. Drinks, vitamins, and supplements are used for the players. The diet and menu of the Vietnamese women's team are also adjusted with chicken and beef 2 meals each at the appropriate time. Using too much beef is not good and needs to be adjusted to best suit the training and competition schedule. Balut, milk, or functional foods are added to the menu.

The Vietnamese women's team is in Group E, facing the Netherlands, the United States and Portugal. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will face very strong opponents, including the United States, the reigning World Cup champions, and the Netherlands, the current runner-up and European champions. Vietnam's group will take place in New Zealand.

Huynh Nhu and her teammates' opening match will be against the US women's team at 8:00 a.m. on July 22.
