Titan newspaper (China) has published an article commenting on the Vietnamese team and other Asian teams in the recent FIFA Days series. In it, they praised coach Philippe Troussier after a successful start.

Coach Troussier had a good start with the Vietnam team when he won two victories with the same score of 1-0 against Hong Kong (China) and Syria.
In particular, the impressive performance of the "Golden Star Warriors" in the match against Syria helped the French strategist dispel doubts.
This newspaper commented: "Coach Troussier could not join the Vietnamese team to participate in the FIFA Days series in March because he was busy working with the U23 team to participate in the Doha Cup.
It was not until June that he officially joined the Vietnam national team to participate in friendly matches. He selected 7 players from the Vietnam U23 team to join the national team during this period.
In the French coach’s debut match, the Vietnamese team won 1-0 against Hong Kong (China). They then continued to impress when defeating a stronger opponent, Syria.
After coach Park Hang Seo left the Vietnam national team in March, public opinion raised doubts. However, after the recent consecutive victories, the previous doubts gradually disappeared.

Meanwhile, another Chinese newspaper, 163 , also said that the Vietnamese team has shown progress.
The newspaper wrote: "While the Chinese team remains stagnant, other teams such as Vietnam, Thailand, Bahrain, Jordan and India have shown significant progress."
After two victories against Hong Kong (China) and Syria, the Vietnamese team was awarded 8.54 points. However, we are still ranked 95th in the world .
In Asia, the "Golden Dragons" rose one place to 15th. That helps the team secure a position in the second seed group in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.
