Comrade Nguyen Anh Dung - Party Secretary, Chairman of Dong Anh Commune People's Council received the traditional flame and lit the torch of the 1st Commune Sports Congress - Youth Camp 2025
The opening ceremony was solemnly held with many rituals: parade to show off forces, torch-lighting procession - traditional fire from Co Loa relic site, flag salute, announcement of reason, introduction of delegates, opening speech, athlete promise, referee oath and awarding souvenir flags to units.
The traditional flame was carried from An Duong Vuong Temple, carried by three outstanding athletes of the commune, lighting up the Congress torch - symbolizing the spirit of "Solidarity - Creativity - Reaching Out - Development".
Comrade Nguyen Thi Luong - Vice Chairman of Dong Anh Commune People's Committee delivered the opening speech.
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Thi Luong - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee affirmed: "In recent years, the mass sports movement in Dong Anh has increasingly developed, facilities have been invested, the rate of people regularly practicing sports has reached 38%, the rate of households practicing sports has reached 44%. In 2024, Dong Anh athletes will participate in many international, national and city competitions and excellently win 129 medals of all kinds, including 35 gold medals, 42 silver medals, 52 bronze medals"
Comrade Nguyen Thi Luong emphasized: The first Dong Anh Commune Sports Festival and the 2025 Youth Camp are big festivals for the whole commune, not only contributing to improving health, training willpower, and educating personality for the young generation, but also an opportunity for people, union members, and youth to exchange, strengthen solidarity, build a healthy cultural life, towards the goal of building a rich and civilized Dong Anh.
Promise of athlete Nguyen Duc Hoang
Representing more than 1,000 participating athletes, athlete Nguyen Duc Hoang (Badminton - Van Thuong village) solemnly read the promise: "Absolutely comply with the regulations of the competitions, participate wholeheartedly with the spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, and progress for the success of the Congress".
Representing the referee team, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi (Volleyball) on behalf of the match management team swore: "Absolutely comply with the tournament regulations, manage fairly, impartially, objectively, and create conditions for athletes to achieve the best results".
The Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags to the groups.
Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded souvenir flags and rewards to groups with outstanding achievements; organized a mass performance program, a propaganda contest, a campfire and exchanges between units.
On August 17, the program continued with a quick camping contest, folk games, final exam results and the 2025 Summer Activities Closing Ceremony.

With the participation of more than 3,000 cadres, members, union members and outstanding young people, the 1st Sports Congress and Dong Anh Commune Youth Camp 2025 became a special sports - cultural - youth event, affirming the determination of the Party Committee, government and local people in developing the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
