At the session, comrade Ha Quang Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau province.

Speaking at the opening of the Session, Comrade Giang Pao My - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation emphasized that with the consensus of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, today the Provincial People's Council organized a special session to dismiss and elect the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; elect the Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council. This is a task of extremely important significance, aiming to promptly complete the key leadership positions of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial People's Council, ensuring stability, unity and continuity in leadership, direction and administration, contributing to improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the government apparatus in the new situation. The work of preparing personnel for the Session was carried out by competent agencies from central to local levels closely, objectively, in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the Party and State on personnel work.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Provincial People's Council delegates to closely follow the leadership of the Central Government and the Provincial Party Committee, uphold the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, democracy, strictly implement the election process; concentrate on reaching a high consensus to consider, select, and decide to elect officials with political mettle, capacity, qualities, and prestige to lead and operate the Provincial People's Committee and the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council in the coming period.

Delegates voted to dismiss comrade Le Van Luong from the position of Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

At the meeting, by voting, the Provincial People's Council delegates dismissed comrade Le Van Luong from the position of Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term to take on a new job assignment according to the decision of the Secretariat. Comrade Le Van Luong was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee.

Next, the Provincial People's Council also conducted the process of electing the position of Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026 for comrade Ha Quang Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee; electing the position of Head of the Economic - Budget Committee for comrade Duong Quoc Hoan - Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Council by voting.

As a result, comrade Ha Quang Trung was elected by delegates to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrade Duong Quoc Hoan was elected to hold the position of Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council with a high number of votes.
