Dong Nai receives advanced technology in ear - nose - throat treatment

On the afternoon of October 15, a working delegation from the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital led by Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tuan Canh, Director of the hospital, visited and worked at Thong Nhat General Hospital (Dong Nai province).

Thong Nhat General Hospital is a grade I, specialized, end-line hospital with 1,050 beds, of which the ENT department has 17 people and 16 inpatient beds.

Overview of the working session at Thong Nhat General Hospital

The department has a Karl Storz endoscopy system, Amplivox audiometer, Shinei suction machine and Zeiss - Leica microsurgery... performing endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic microsurgery of the larynx, microsurgical tympanoplasty, septoplasty and many other complex ear - throat surgeries. In 2024 alone, the team of doctors examined more than 14,100 patients, performed 698 surgeries; and in the 9 months of 2025, performed 514 surgeries.

Deputy Director in charge of Thong Nhat General Hospital Nguyen Tuong Quang presented flowers to thank Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tuan Canh, Director of the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital.

The ENT department also provides practical training for hospitals and lower-level medical centers such as Trang Bom Regional Medical Center, Vinh Cuu Regional Medical Center, and Thong Nhat Regional Medical Center. The leaders of Thong Nhat General Hospital hope to receive support from the Central ENT Hospital in transferring techniques of frontal sinus surgery, pharyngeal-palatal-uvula correction to treat snoring, tonsillectomy using coblator technology, ENT aesthetics, and improving the hearing unit.

The delegation of the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital visited and surveyed the situation of examination and treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases at Thong Nhat General Hospital.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tuan Canh suggested that the hospital continue to provide more training for the department's human resources, supplement equipment, and the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital is ready to provide professional support and transfer advanced techniques according to the needs of Thong Nhat General Hospital to improve the quality of examination and treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases.

On the same morning, a working delegation from the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital visited, surveyed and worked at Long Khanh Regional General Hospital.
