Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1: Determining completion time for each package

(DN) - The Government Office has issued Official Dispatch No. 3475/VPCP-CN (dated April 22, 2025) to the Ministers of Construction, Public Security, Agriculture and Environment, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the implementation of the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1 and connecting traffic routes.

Accordingly, considering the recommendations of the Ministry of Construction and ACV, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the units to research and urgently implement to ensure the progress of construction items, especially the bid packages at risk of not meeting the progress requirements, to complete synchronously, and put the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1 into operation according to the direction of the Prime Minister (basically completed in 2025).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committee of Dong Nai province direct relevant agencies to ensure timely and adequate supply of materials for the project as directed by the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with investors to review and determine the completion time for each bid package, component project and the entire project to ensure synchronization when put into operation, promote efficiency and avoid waste. Monitor, urge and inspect the project implementation process, promptly handle difficulties and problems, and report to the Prime Minister on issues beyond its authority.

At the same time, the Ministry of Construction, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and relevant localities and agencies deploy traffic routes connecting to Long Thanh Airport under the direction of the Prime Minister.

Previously, ACV reported on the results of the working trip and negotiations with partners supplying aviation equipment for Component Project 3, Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1. Accordingly, the partners all committed to shortening the time and handing over aviation equipment before December 31, 2025.
