As expected, after the project is implemented, people will be able to use many utilities from public institutions such as cultural and sports centers, kindergartens, land for construction of works serving community cultural activities, green areas, sports fields serving residents in the area... However, after many changes in the plan, the project is still in disarray.

Surveying the area approved for project implementation, Hanoi Moi Newspaper reporters recorded that at the beginning of Dong Me Street, only the headquarters of Nam Tu Liem District Electricity Company has been cleared, handed over and built a new headquarters; the remaining areas for project implementation have not yet been implemented. Meanwhile, due to the land being planned for project implementation, some households cannot repair their houses or build new ones. Roads and infrastructure in the area are temporary, becoming public garbage dumping sites. The area at the beginning of Dong Me Street has also been turned into a mobile clothing store, and one side of the road has become a car parking lot, making the road even narrower. Construction waste, old and broken furniture are also thrown haphazardly in the project area...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, a resident of Me Tri ward, said: "When the project was implemented, people were very happy and looked forward to the establishment of green areas and sports grounds for residents, contributing to improving social infrastructure. However, due to the prolonged construction of the project, this area is always dusty, messy and unkempt."

Talking to reporters of Hanoi Moi Newspaper on this issue, Vice Chairman of Me Tri Ward People's Committee (Nam Tu Liem District) Do Duc Thong said that the city issued a policy to implement the project in 2007 but construction only began in 2015. However, the project is complicated, and during the process of organizing and implementing site clearance, there were many changes in related mechanisms, policies and regulations. Therefore, the project had to adjust the policy about 8 times. It was not until September 2024 that the Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee established a Site Clearance Council to apply compensation levels according to the 2024 Land Law.
According to Mr. Do Duc Thong, the total area of the project according to the milestone handover record is 16,244m2. Up to now, the working group has carried out the first phase of land ownership for 82 households with an area of 11,693m2 . The cleared area overlaps with the Me Tri - Do Duc Duc connecting road construction project by 155m2 . The cleared area at the Me Tri Commune Cultural Center project by 1,749m2 . The ditch land managed by the Ward People's Committee is 1,217m2 ... After carrying out the land ownership, the working group prepares documents and notifies each household of land acquisition. Currently, the working group is conducting investigation, survey, measurement, statistics, and counting. In the coming time, it will collect opinions, establish and appraise compensation and resettlement support plans and issue a decision to reclaim land to hand over to the investor, the Nam Tu Liem District Construction Investment Project Management Board, to implement the project.
Regarding the project progress, Vice Chairman of Me Tri Ward People's Committee Do Duc Thong said that on December 10, 2024, Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee issued Decision No. 2942/QD-UBND approving the adjustment of the implementation time of the Me Tri Ward Social Infrastructure Construction Project. Accordingly, Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee decided to adjust the project implementation time to the end of 2026. Thus, the project completion time has been set. People hope that the project will not be adjusted further. The problems need to be resolved soon so that the project can be completed on schedule, creating a green and convenient living space, avoiding waste of land and financial resources.
