Tourists to Hue expected to increase sharply during National Day holiday September 2

According to the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province, during this year's National Day holiday, the trend of tourists is to travel in family groups by private car and train, with the need to rest, experience and explore local culture and nature.

From August 29 to September 3, Vietnam Railways Corporation has a policy of reducing ticket prices for groups and individual travelers, so the number of tourists traveling by train to and from Hue is expected to increase sharply. This unit also plans to welcome about 13,000 passengers arriving and departing at Hue Station.

The Hue - Da Nang "Connecting Central Heritage" tourist train route alone had about 3,500 passengers registered during the holiday. On August 31 and September 2, the trains on this route were full of passengers. Also during this holiday, Phu Bai International Airport planned to welcome 330 flights arriving and departing, transporting about 59,400 passengers.

Tourists lined up to visit Hue Imperial City during the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province, said that during the National Day holiday this year, Vietnamese tourists and local people will be exempted from tickets when visiting Hue relic sites on September 2. In addition, the locality also organizes a number of cultural and sports activities to serve the local community and tourists such as: The 5th "Hue Jogging - running together for the community" program with the theme "Hue is always new" on the morning of September 1 at the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Administrative Urban Area Square; The 35th traditional boat race of Thua Thien Hue province on the Huong River on the morning of September 2; Art performances at the Imperial Citadel Walking Street on weekend nights...

In order to meet the increasing demand of tourists during each holiday, the relic sites under the management of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center have also prepared ticket sales and visitor management plans at crowded tourist spots as well as arranged art performances and services for visitors. Resort hotels in the province all have on-site culinary experiences and local traditional handicraft products for tourists.

It is expected that the number of visitors to Thua Thien Hue during the holiday (from August 30 to September 3) will reach 120,000 (an increase of 22.4% compared to the same holiday on September 2, 2023), with revenue from tourism services estimated at VND 132 billion.

The number of guests staying is forecast to reach 48,000 (up 31.3%), including about 16,500 international visitors (up 54.3%). The average room occupancy rate of hotels is about 64%. On August 31 and September 1 alone, the room occupancy rate of many accommodation establishments reached over 80%. Most hotels, homestays in the center of Hue city, coastal resorts, lagoons and waterfalls in Phu Loc and A Luoi districts are almost fully booked for these two days.
