According to the forecast of the China Meteorological Administration, from the night of October 1 to October 2, the Taishan mountain area will have heavy rain with gusts of level 6.

Despite warnings of adverse weather, on the occasion of National Day holiday, crowds of people still flocked to this famous tourist attraction to visit.

The reality on Mount Taishan is described by tourists as nothing less than a “disaster”. Initially, when the weather was still clear, many people subjectively flocked to the mountain with the hope of conquering the peak. However, in the middle of the journey, a heavy rain suddenly fell.

With limited shelters, many tourists were forced to crowd into restrooms. Scenic area staff also urgently opened many mountain temples and pagodas to serve as “refugees”, but still could not accommodate the large number of people.

"Mountain hotels are quite expensive. Standard rooms cost more than 1,000 yuan (3.7 million VND) per night and most are fully booked. Many hotels and restaurants also arrange seats for tourists to shelter from the rain, but they charge an overnight fee of 60 yuan (more than 200,000 VND) per person," a tourist shared.

A restaurant near the top of Mount Taishan said: "The overnight fee at the lobby is 80-100 yuan (300-370 thousand dong) per person with amenities such as phone charging, wireless internet, unlimited hot water and free cup noodles."

Despite a 48-hour warning from the Bureau of Meteorology, the number of visitors to Mount Taishan has reportedly reached its peak. Strong winds have forced the suspension of cable cars, forcing visitors to walk down, and slippery mountain roads have increased safety risks.
