Suoi Chieu Lake Tourism Experience

We rented a motorboat from a local household to explore the lake. While driving the boat, Mr. Ha Van Thang, Chieu village, Muong Coi commune, shared: In 2012, Suoi Chieu dam is an irrigation project built with a lake surface area of over 50 hectares, a capacity of over 4 million m³ of water, with the purpose of providing water for Muong Tac fields and neighboring areas. In recent years, many tourists from all over have come here, some groups go picnicking, some go fishing, film, take photos. We started to combine the service of driving a boat to visit and admire the scenery of Suoi Chieu lake with prices from 200,000-300,000 VND/trip.

The boat took us gliding across the lake, flanked by green cliffs. At times, the boat entered small branches of the lake, the water surface was quiet and mysterious. Occasionally, the call of a group of fishermen on the boat echoed, along with the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves in the forest, creating a harmony between the natural landscape and people in the vast space.

Experiencing the peaceful space by the lake, we enjoyed attractive ethnic dishes, such as fragrant grilled stream fish; golden grilled chicken over hot coals; fresh and crispy wild vegetable salad, imbued with natural flavors. Each dish was not only delicious but also carried the rusticity and sincerity of the people here. The meal became an interesting and memorable experience during our trip.

In recent years, households in Chieu village have exploited the potential of Suoi Chieu lake to develop fish farming in cages, associated with tourism development. Mr. Mui Van Lam, Party cell secretary, head of Chieu village, Muong Coi commune, said: The whole village has 66 fish cages, creating a stable source of income. In addition, the organization takes visitors around the lake by boat, combining food and beverage services, cultural and artistic exchanges, serving visitors to visit and experience.
