The event, organized by online dating app Tinder, will take place from December 6 to 8 at Landmark 81 (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City). Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok are the first two global connection points where Tinder has organized a cross-city teleportation experience station.
67% of young people are willing to start a cross-border relationship
Tinder's Year in Swipe 2023 statistics show that travel is the top hobby that Gen Z in Vietnam put on their personal page.
Meanwhile, a survey conducted in July 2024 by One Poll with 1,000 young people (aged 18-26) in Vietnam showed that up to 79% were excited to connect with locals before starting their travel journey.
This shows that creating new relationships and exploring local cultures is becoming a trend that young people are particularly interested in.
Tinder representatives said that young singles in the Asia- Pacific region today are gradually changing the way they connect and redefine relationships. 67% of the 100 respondents answered that they are ready to start a cross-border relationship. This is also a way for them to express the spirit of integration and open-mindedness of the generation, whether it is love or friendship.
"That is also the reason why Tinder created the Passport feature in real life, opening the gateway connecting two dynamic cities in Asia, Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok, like today," he informed.

Duy Duong (born in 2000) was connected with a young woman in Bangkok. In English, they both asked each other about their names, places of residence, hobbies... "The feeling is different from lying in bed alone swiping. I'm nervous not because of the other person, but because everyone around me is looking at me," Duy Duong laughed.
Ha Duong, 25 years old, said that because he saw so many people gathered, he was curious and wanted to try it out.
Ha Duong used Tinder to find her other half. However, this was the first time she experienced talking directly with a stranger through a dating app. "Today, I had the opportunity to pass by and experience it, I found it quite interesting," Ha Duong shared.
