What did diva My Linh say after being awarded the Green Wave Achievement Award?

At the 2023 Green Wave Awards, the organizers announced that the Achievement Award would be given to singer My Linh. Upon hearing this news, the diva was moved and said that the award was both a commemoration of her journey so far and a strong motivation for her to continue contributing in the future.

"I had just landed. As soon as my phone regained signal, I was bombarded with congratulatory messages from so many younger people. It was quite overwhelming but incredibly happy," she said.

What made singer My Linh happiest was that the messages came not only from fans but also from young colleagues in showbiz, including new friends from the "Beautiful Sisters Riding the Waves" program. In My Linh's mind, winning the award was a joy, but what she found most meaningful was the recognition and congratulations from her colleagues.

When asked about her memories of the Green Wave era, the singer said that even now she often watches clips of herself practicing singing with her husband, musician Anh Quân, while Anna Trương (Anh Quân's eldest daughter) is also dancing along to her parents' melodies.

My Linh affirmed: "This is one of the most beautiful moments of my family that Lan Song Xanh has captured throughout our journey together."

Vietnamese diva My Linh was moved that her work throughout nearly 30 years of singing had been recognized, but she still believes there was a lot of luck involved: "Life has always given me the right people at the right time."

My Linh believes that the early steps in her career were not only supported by composers Anh Quan and Huy Tuan, but also by other names such as composer Duong Thu and singer Bang Kieu… These are the people who accompanied her and helped her lay the first bricks for her career, so that today those achievements are being celebrated.

"Some people gave me support, some gave me encouragement, some gave me a shirt to wear on stage. I will always cherish all those acts of kindness in my heart; I can never forget them," singer My Linh said emotionally.

Looking back on her career, audiences mostly see the highs, but My Linh always cherishes the lows.

"Many people tend to avoid talking about the low points in their careers, but for me, now that I'm older, I understand that these are necessary stages in life for self-improvement. In youth, everyone has moments of competitiveness, but only when you understand that there are things more valuable than victory will you find your own happiness," the singer confided.

However, the singer admits that this very mindset has built a very safe image for her later years. The diva believes that young people should have a little "competitiveness," a little "fighting spirit," and a little "self-admiration" in order to achieve creativity and breakthroughs and find the right path for themselves. Besides that, she also recognizes that each person is a unique universe; no one should be a role model for anyone else, but each person will find their own suitable path.

"Some people, like me, prefer peace and quiet and avoid controversy. Others, however, are too energetic and create noise wherever they go. It's a matter of personal choice," she said.

Looking back on 2023, My Linh said she had had wonderful experiences, not only because she ended the year with a Green Wave Achievement Award, but also because of the joys and sorrows of participating in the "Beautiful Sisters Riding the Waves" program. This was also considered a time when My Linh "stepped out of her comfort zone," and the things she learned brought her interesting emotions.

"I feel like I've been given a new source of energy. In the near future, I might release more albums or do more tours all over the world," My Linh revealed.
