According to the Central Highlands Connectivity Enhancement Project Management Board (National Highway 19 Upgrade Project), An Khe Pass has been reopened to one lane of traffic after many hours of being cut off. The An Khe Pass section of National Highway 19 has seen less rainfall, less water flowing to the slopes and no landslides have occurred, so authorities have allowed vehicles to pass through.
Previously, from about 9:15 a.m. on November 19, the authorities had officially blocked off all vehicles from passing through An Khe Pass due to the impact of the landslide. At the scene, streams of water from the top of the pass poured down on National Highway 19. Rainwater washed away gravel, causing cracks in the ground at some locations on the mountainside, threatening to collapse the concrete embankment.
At locations along An Khe Pass, construction units spray concrete, drive piles, and install anti-landslide nets. However, when it rains heavily, there is still a risk of landslides that endanger the lives of drivers and vehicles traveling through the pass.
