The North-South railway where the freight train derailed has reopened.

On the morning of September 28, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company said that the North-South railway section passing through the location where freight train H16 derailed at 2 a.m. the same day has reopened.
Previously, at around 2:00 a.m. on September 28, freight train H16, consisting of a locomotive pulling 24 carriages, was running on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway in the North - South direction when reaching Km 752+250 in the Lang Co - Thua Luu section (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province). The locomotive derailed two axles, about 50cm from the edge of the railway track.
The H16 freight train derailed on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line through Thua Thien - Hue province.
Immediately after the incident, railway units organized rescue and urgently handled the situation to quickly reopen the route. Currently, the North-South railway section through the location of the H16 train derailment has reopened. Notably, this is the fifth time a train has derailed while traveling on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City railway section through Thua Thien-Hue province in recent times.
