The railway has added 11 high-quality passenger carriages.

On the afternoon of December 25th, the Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to unveil a project commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation (April 6, 1955 - April 6, 2025).

This is a project to upgrade and renovate 11 high-quality passenger carriages (AnL28) carried out by the Saigon Railway Car Branch, expected to operate on the Saigon - Nha Trang route, with a total investment of over 25.5 billion VND.

The project commenced on September 1, 2024, with 125 workers participating. The interior and exterior of the train carriages are designed with many superior features. For example, the paint colors, exterior walls, and roofs are meticulously crafted. The carriages are painted in white, gray, and blue, with the main image being the crane from the Dong Son bronze drum, a symbol closely associated with Vietnamese culture. Each carriage features paintings and artistic photographs of the country's natural landscapes and architecture from the regions the train travels through, allowing passengers to take souvenir photos of their train journey. The ceilings and walls of the carriages are made of new composite material; the restrooms are spacious and equipped with new features such as ceramic toilets with integrated water flushing systems combined with anaerobic biological treatment systems; ceramic washbasins combined with countertops and cast stone floors; and a cold air and ventilation system including high-capacity exhaust fans combined with ductwork to eliminate odors on the train. The washing area is supplied with direct cold air and equipped with a floating ceramic sink, high-end faucets, touch-sensitive mirrors, and stylish hand dryers, harmoniously combined with paintings and artwork to create a vibrant space. The room and access doors have been improved and equipped with additional automatic locking and stabilizing devices, eliminating the unpleasant feeling caused by door slamming or shaking… According to the leaders of the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, due to the large volume of work and the short timeframe, the construction unit combined periodic repairs, structural changes to the train cars, and rearranged the entire floor plan from 80 seats to 7 rooms with 28 beds and 1 staff room. In addition, the entire floor and ground of the train cars had to be demolished, the columns, windows, and sheet metal of the train cars, toilets, electrical cabinets, etc., had to be rearranged, and especially the air ducts and cold air distribution system of the train cars had to be replaced. To ensure progress, unit leaders encouraged workers to work overtime, including Saturdays and Sundays. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Railways Corporation, praised and congratulated the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company and the construction unit for their efforts in completing the project on schedule to serve passengers during the Lunar New Year. The upgraded carriages are of high quality and have great significance as a project commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation. Mr. Dang Sy Manh added that throughout the past 70 years, under the leadership of the Party Committee of the Corporation, the railway industry has had many historical milestones, moving from one success to another. Thanks to the efforts of the workers, the industry has produced many good products to serve society. These efforts need to be promoted and innovated. Mr. Dang Sy Manh affirmed that, in order for the railway industry to continue making remarkable progress, all officials, employees, and workers in the industry need to be proud of the past, assert themselves in the present, think deeply, act grandly, and live up to the future…
