In order to promote the value of traditional products, Mr. Pham Duy Trinh in An Luong village (Duy Hai commune) is striving to build the Duy Trinh shrimp paste brand with three important criteria: 100% natural, traditional, and no preservatives.

According to Mr. Trinh, to produce a delicious batch of shrimp paste, the main ingredient must be very fresh shrimp, which are then mixed thoroughly with coarse salt sourced from the famous salt-producing region of Phan Rang - Thap Cham in the appropriate ratio, and then ground into a fine paste.

The next step is to extract the juice and dry it in the sun until it turns a light pink color, becomes thick, smooth, and has a rich, delicious flavor. It is projected that in 2024, the facility will market over 37,455 products, generating revenue of approximately 1 billion VND.

In 2021, Duy Trinh shrimp paste was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product and is currently aiming for a 4-star provincial rating. Notably, in support of the producer, the local government and the agricultural sector of Duy Xuyen district have provided Mr. Trinh's facility with 98 million VND to invest in packaging design, labeling, and purchasing equipment and machinery for production.

According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Duy Xuyen district, by the beginning of October 2024, the locality had 22 products recognized by the provincial and district levels as achieving OCOP star ratings. Of these, 6 products achieved 4-star status and 16 products achieved 3-star status.

The functional departments of Duy Xuyen district have been focusing on innovating production organization methods, management skills, and food quality and safety management. Businesses are boldly investing in advanced and modern equipment, gradually improving technology and processes for production, processing, and preservation of products.

On the other hand, it is necessary to ensure traceability criteria along the value chain, identify growing areas; strengthen the standardization of raw material production, processing, and packaging processes associated with intellectual property; and promote products...

According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, in addition to businesses proactively building and developing e-commerce, Duy Xuyen district has supported businesses with nearly 1.7 billion VND to improve production processes. The district has focused on promoting trade and connecting supply and demand for OCOP products through fairs and exhibitions.

In particular, the "Startup, Digital Transformation, Job Networking and Trade Fair for OCOP Products and Tourism in Duy Xuyen District" event in 2023 was truly effective in connecting, trading, and expanding the market for OCOP products…
