EP "Don't Know Whether to Be Happy or Sad": Mature and gentle features in Bao Anh's music

On the evening of May 21, Bao Anh officially released the EP " Don't Know Whether to Be Happy or Sad" and the MV "She's His" .

The EP includes 4 ballad songs composed by Kai Dinh, music produced by producer TDK and featuring rapper Tao in the opening song of the album. At the same time, Bao Anh also released a physical CD for the EP Don't Know Should Be Happy or Sad , with a mini photo book, rounded-corner cards with autographs for fans.

Previously on May 19, the EP took the No. 1 spot on the iTunes pre-order chart even though it was released on May 21.

Bao Anh returns with femininity and gentleness in music

The main content of her and his is the story of meeting an ex-lover again, with regrets and worries in mind.

His MV was filmed in Phu Yen, produced by a Korean crew led by director Zoo Yeong Jeong and Bowiestudios. This is also the crew that has produced MVs for many famous Kpop artists such as BTS, FT Island, KARD... Bao Anh gave an immersive performance, fully portraying the confused state of mind of a girl in love but not daring to say it. The scenes in the MV bring a gentle, profound atmosphere, using majestic and peaceful natural scenery to express each lyric and the character's inner thoughts.

The story of the MV revolves around two best friends since their teenage years, the female character played by Bao Anh secretly has feelings for the male friend (Mac Trung Kien) but has never dared to confess. Always accompanying each other throughout their youth, to the girl, he is the person she once loved with the purest things. However, the irony is that the male friend's heart beats faster because of another girl and he is also carefree and has never realized the feelings of his best friend.

Because he was completely unaware of her feelings for him, he asked her to write a love letter for him to send to the other girl. She accepted and secretly kept her feelings to herself, so throughout the MV, she showed thoughtful eyes whenever she was with her best friend. In the end, she handed over the letter in a conflicted state of mind, and when she wanted to use the remaining courage to confess, it was too late.

The MV tells those who have, are, and will love that sometimes, courage is very important and necessary in love, so that you don't have to regret it forever.

"At the time when I was on a journey to find new music, I had the chance to meet musicians and express their compositions with my voice. Sometimes, I sing because of emotional harmony and suitability, not necessarily because the song has to be my real story. Although not intentional, Bao Anh's music in each period is quite true to the years I have experienced" - Bao Anh shared.

As the composer of all 4 songs in the EP "I Don't Know Whether to Be Happy or Sad" , Kai Dinh said that Bao Anh's voice is suitable for Asian materials: "I want to do a project that can highlight the femininity and softness in Bao Anh's voice in a general Asian space. Not specific materials from China, Japan, Vietnam or any other country, but simply a space with Asian sounds".
