EVNHCMC promotes the development of smart grid in Thu Duc City

That is the information stated at the Conference "City's electricity sector connects with local Party committees and authorities" in 2023 between the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Thu Duc City with the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation (EVNHCMC) and Thu Duc Electricity Company taking place on the afternoon of September 20.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Pham Quoc Bao - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of EVNHCMC said that in recent times, the Corporation has focused on implementing digital transformation and effectively applying the achievements of the fourth industrial revolution in all aspects of its operations. In particular, the construction of a complete smart grid system in Ho Chi Minh City is identified as a key task. In particular, in Thu Duc City, the electricity sector is currently urgently reviewing and coordinating with relevant agencies to update the local power grid planning for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2050 to ensure the most appropriate and effective planning, serving stable power supply and socio-economic development. Comrade Secretary of the Party Committee of EVNHCMC also hopes that the electricity sector will continue to receive the attention and support of the City government to help Thu Duc Power Company successfully complete its assigned political tasks; Resolving difficulties and obstacles in power projects being implemented in the area; providing planning information for synchronous coordination in implementing power projects; disseminating measures for safe - economical - effective electricity use among the people.

According to the report at the Conference, the total number of electricity customers of Thu Duc Power Company is more than 396,000 customers. Commercial electricity output in 2022 reached 4,724.83 million kWh (up 9.46% over the same period in 2021). With the motto of promoting grid automation, laying the foundation for smart grid development, in recent times the electricity industry has continued to deploy and effectively operate the Control Center model, unmanned transformer stations and distribution grid automation systems. Specifically in Thu Duc city, the company has completed the conversion and is effectively operating 100% of 110kV transformer stations to the unmanned/remote control model; building a monitoring system, remote control of switching devices on the Mini-SCADA medium voltage grid; Install remote meters for public and specialized transformer stations, electricity customers reach 100% rate.

In the undergrounding work, the undergrounding volume of the power grid in the period of 2011 - 2020 in the area is more than 54km of medium voltage grid and about 36km of low voltage grid. Up to now, the undergrounding rate of medium voltage grid has reached 56% and the undergrounding rate of low voltage grid has reached 20%. From 2021 to now, 07 undergrounding projects are being implemented. In the period of 2021 - 2030, Thu Duc City is expected to underground about 300 road sections with a volume of about 500km of medium voltage grid and 600km of low voltage grid.

At the Conference, the electricity sector also made a number of recommendations to the Thu Duc City Party Committee in supporting the investigation of electrical equipment theft cases; supporting the timely settlement of route agreements, construction licensing and resolving obstacles to accelerate the progress of power grid projects, soon put them into operation to ensure stable power supply in the area, contributing to improving urban aesthetics and socio-economic development in the city; removing difficulties and obstacles for 220KV and 110KV projects being implemented in Thu Duc City; updating power development plans into the general planning of Thu Duc City, adding power grid projects to the annual land use plan of Thu Duc City.

Highly appreciating the coordination between the two units in recent times, Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee Nguyen Huu Hiep also suggested that the two units work together to remove difficulties, obstacles, and legitimate recommendations on electricity to improve the quality of service to the people; continue to coordinate more closely and closely in all aspects on the basis of ensuring current regulations, in order to bring about the highest efficiency, meeting the requirements for the economic and social development of Thu Duc City.

At the Conference, the EVNHCMC Party Committee and the Thu Duc City Party Committee signed a cooperation program between the two units, focusing on coordinating to complete and develop the power system in the area to meet the needs of local economic - social - cultural development and people's lives.

On this occasion, Thu Duc Electricity Company donated 50 million VND to the "Fund for the Poor" of Thu Duc City to carry out social security activities, care for and help people in difficult circumstances in the area./.
