Meeting with war veterans who participated in the resistance war against the US on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South

On the morning of April 10, the Veterans Association of Kim Bang town held a meeting with delegates of veterans who participated in the resistance war against the US, typical examples of studying and following Uncle Ho on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the glorious and heroic history of the nation associated with the heroic feats of arms of the army and people of the whole country in general, of the province and the town in particular. Accordingly, in the resistance war against the US to save the country: With the spirit of "Determination to completely defeat the US invaders", the whole town mobilized more than 12,000 militia and self-defense forces; each commune had 1 anti-aircraft combat company, 1 mobile militia company, 1 production and combat company; the town's armed forces closely coordinated with the air defense forces of neighboring areas, directly fighting 250 battles. At the same time, promoting the movements of "Plowman in one hand, gunman in the other", "Hammer in one hand, gunman in the other", with the determination of "Not a pound of rice is missing, not a soldier is missing", the whole town sent off more than 31,000 outstanding young men to join the army, to fight in all the battlefields of the South (including 514 young men volunteering to go to the fire lines to sacrifice themselves to support the front lines to fight the Americans)...

After completing their glorious mission and returning to their hometowns, the soldiers always promote their good nature and the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" to participate in protecting the Party, the government, the socialist regime and the people. From 2,180 members at the time of its establishment, the town's War Veterans Association has now developed 6,218 members; every year, over 90% of War Veterans achieve the title of Exemplary War Veterans, 100% of the association's grassroots organizations complete their tasks well, of which 20% complete them excellently.

In recognition of the achievements, the Party Committee, government and people of Kim Bang were honored to receive the Independence Medal, First, Second and Third Class,from the President ; and for many consecutive years, the Government awarded the Emulation Flag. The Kim Bang Town War Veterans Association was awarded the Labor Medal, Second and Third Class, by the State; the Vietnam War Veterans Association awarded 6 emulation flags, and the Provincial People's Committee awarded 3 excellent emulation flags...
