According to British media, Amorim bluntly told Garnacho during an internal meeting that he should "pray to find a new team." Amorim's cold attitude hurt Garnacho's pride and put Manchester United at a disadvantage in negotiations. Many clubs began to drive up the price, while the Red Devils were eager to expedite their squad overhaul.
Once valued at £70 million, offers for Garnacho now hover around £45-50 million. The Old Trafford club doesn't want to keep the young player for another season, so they've been forced to accept a price £20 million lower than expected.
Multiple sources confirm Garnacho is definitely leaving MU. "Once considered a gem" at MU, the door at Old Trafford has closed for Garnacho," The Athletic claims.
Garnacho had a decent 2024/25 season with 21 goal contributions. However, his relationship with Amorim visibly deteriorated after he was left out of the starting lineup for this season's Europa League final.
Napoli approached Garnacho in January 2025, but disagreements over salary caused the deal to fall through. Now, as Manchester United embarks on a rebuilding process, Garnacho will be one of the first to leave.
Alongside squad overhauls, MU successfully signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £2.5 million and continued to pursue Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford. The team is also looking for an additional midfielder, a striker, and possibly a replacement for goalkeeper Andre Onana.
