(NLDO) – Hoi An City organizes many meaningful activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of being recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage.
On the morning of December 4, the People's Committee of Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province held a parade to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hoi An Ancient Town being recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage (December 4, 1999 - December 4, 2024).
The parade attracted hundreds of participants including delegations, leaders of Hoi An City, representatives of agencies, departments, unions, representatives of businesses, organizations, people, students, Chinese communities in Assembly Halls, representatives of artists, artisans, craftsmen...

Accordingly, hundreds of cyclos, bicycles, and electric cars have been traveling on routes in Hoi An ancient town and some neighboring routes. Meanwhile, hundreds of rowing boats and bamboo basket boats, unique tourism products of Hoi An, have also been traveling on the poetic Hoai River.
The parades created a very lively and impressive image, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for locals and tourists visiting Hoi An on this occasion.
On the morning of December 4, Hoi An City People's Committee also held a celebration and meeting on the theme "Imprints on the journey of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage values of Hoi An Ancient Town".
Cycling parade to celebrate 25 years of Hoi An as a world cultural heritage
The ceremony aims to look back at the process of managing and protecting Hoi An Ancient Town from the difficult early days until it was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage and the great achievements after 25 years of managing, preserving and promoting the value of the heritage.
This is also an opportunity for agencies, units, organizations and individuals who have been participating in the management, preservation and promotion of the value of the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town to meet, exchange and share memorable memories and marks over the past 25 years.

Within the framework of the Meeting, Hoi An city organized a photo exhibition to introduce the value of Hoi An's cultural heritage and achievements over 25 years of preservation and promotion.

In particular, on this occasion, the city published a collection of "Research information on 25 years of heritage conservation". The publication gathers research articles highlighting the process and achievements of 25 years of preserving the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town.
Previously, on December 3, Hoi An City People's Committee also held the opening ceremony of Hoi An Local Products Museum at house number 57 Tran Phu, Minh An ward.

Hoi An Local Products Museum is located in an ancient house with a 2-storey structure with 2 houses connected by a connecting house - sky yard, conveniently located to connect with other thematic museums such as the Museum of Traditional Medicine (46 Nguyen Thai Hoc), the Museum of Trade Ceramics (80 Tran Phu), the Museum of Folk Culture (33 Nguyen Thai Hoc) creating a chain of thematic museum systems in Hoi An.
Also at this opening ceremony, the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center will introduce and launch the book "Fragrances and Local Products of Hoi An, Quang Nam" including 38 articles by experts and researchers.
