According to the latest records, May rubber contracts fell across all exchanges. Currently, the rubber market is witnessing mixed fluctuations as Japan and Thailand fell sharply, while China edged up slightly.

In Japan, RSS3 rubber price on Tocom - Tokyo floor; Contract for delivery in May 2025 was at 283.8 JPY/kg, down 1.46%; Contract for delivery in June 2025 was at 291.1 JPY/kg, up 1.11%; Contract for delivery in July 2025 was at 290 JPY/kg, up 0.55%; Contract for delivery in August 2025 was at 289.5 JPY/kg, up 0.14%; Contract for delivery in September 2025 was at 289.1 JPY/kg, up 0.07%; Contract for delivery in October 2025 was at 290.3 JPY/kg, up 0.35%.

In Thailand, rubber futures for May delivery were at 73.63 baht/kg, down 0.91 baht/kg to 72.72 baht/kg.

In Shanghai, the price of natural rubber on the SHFE; The April 2025 contract was at 16,640 yuan/kg; The May 2025 contract was at 16,680 yuan/kg; The June 2025 contract was at 16,740 yuan/kg; The July 2025 contract was at 16,795 yuan/kg. The August 2025 contract was at 16,815 yuan/kg.

In Singapore, TSR20 rubber price On SGX; TSR20 rubber futures contract for May 2025 was traded at 168.90 cents/kg, down 0.18%; TSR20 rubber futures contract for June 2025 was traded at 166.80 cents/kg, up 0.36%; TSR20 rubber futures contract for July 2025 was traded at 165.40 cents/kg, down 0.12%; TSR20 rubber futures contract for August 2025 was traded at 165.20 cents/kg, down 0.36%; TSR20 rubber futures contract for September 2025 was traded at 165.30 cents/kg, down 0.42%.

Domestic rubber price

The purchasing price at Mang Yang Rubber Company today is stable: Grade 1 latex is at 420 VND/TSC/kg, grade 2 latex is at 415 VND/TSC/kg

Today's mixed latex: Mixed latex type 1: at 430 VND/DRC/kg, mixed latex type 2 at 378 VND/DRC/kg.

Phu Rieng Rubber Company: Water latex price is at 440 VND/TSC/kg; Mixed latex price is at 400 VND/DRC/kg.

Ba Ria Rubber Company, latex rubber price today: Level 1 is priced at 452 VND/ TSC degree/kg applied to TSC degree from 30 and above; Level 2 is priced at 447 VND/ TSC degree/kg applied to TSC degree from 25 to under 30; Level 3 is priced at 442 VND/ TSC degree/kg, applied to TSC degree from 20 to under 25.

Price of mixed latex: Cup latex, coagulated latex with DRC ≥ 50% at 18,000 VND/kg; Cup latex, coagulated latex with DRC from 45-50% at 16,700 VND/kg; Clotted latex with DRC from 35-45% at 13,500 VND/kg.

Prices at Binh Long Rubber Company extended horizontally: Water latex: 386-396 VND/TSC/kg; mixed latex with 60% DRC is priced at 14,000 VND/kg.

Some highlights on the rubber market this week

Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) announced it will raise prices “up to 10%” on replacement tires for passenger cars and commercial trucks in the U.S. market, effective May 1. The price increase is due to “unprecedented increases in raw material and finished product costs,” YTC CEO Stan Chandgie said.

New car registrations in the EU fell 1.9% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, ACEA reported on April 24. The market share of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) was 15.2% – lower than expected, despite an increase from 12% last year. Hybrids grew strongly, accounting for 35.5% of the market – continuing to be the top choice in the EU. Meanwhile, the combined market share of petrol and diesel vehicles fell to 38.3%, down sharply from 48.3% in the same period last year.
